The research focus at ISU lies on the mathematical modeling of transport and flow processes. Research activities at ISU include the following fields:

The ISU carries out fundamental research as well as applied research using interdisciplinary approaches. Coupling of mathematical models becomes increasingly important, in order to investigate complex physical problems. In that respect, a particular focus is on the efficiency of models and their coupling.
